The Rhythm Studio | Alumni & Student Achievements

Some of our alumni and current students have had some amazing achievements in their musical endeavors. Below you will find a few highlights. (Above from left: Tristan Goodman, Sebastien Croft and Melissa Travers)

James David

After eighteen months of intensive tuition at The Rhythm Studio in 06-07, James enrolled for a BA (Hons) in Music Production at Leeds College Of Music. Last year he graduated with 1st Class Honours and now works full-time as an assistant for Mike Spencer, producer to the likes of Kylie, Jamiroquai and Rizzle Kicks. James is currently working on Rebecca Ferguson's new single 'Too Good To Lose', as well as songs for Labrinth and Delilah. He also recently played drums on the studio recording of 'Me Without You' by Loick Essien, which made it to No.14 in the UK charts.

Sebastian Croft

Bash, a regular at The Rhythm Studio's Rock & Roll Boot Camps, is busy developing an extremely successful career in music theatre. Bash recently played Gavroche in Les Misérables at Queens Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, then made his West End debut as the lead in Oliver! at the Theatre Royal. He is currently touring the UK with the Oliver! production.

Melissa Travers

Melissa has been studying drums with Matt at The Rhythm Studio for three years. Last year Melissa auditioned to star in a Lexus TV commercial entitled 'The Drum Roll'. We are very proud that Melissa was chosen from thousands of drummers to star in the commercial alongside Kylie and a group of amazing drummers that included William Boweman (La Roux), Pauli Stanley-Mckenzie (Gorrillaz) and Mark Mondesir (Jeff Beck).

Tristan Goodman

Tristan has been studying at The Rhythm Studio for over six years. He was one of the first pupils to take drum lessons with us, back when Chris was teaching drums in his auntie's basement and The Rhythm Studio was in its infancy. Tristan's performances are always a highlight of our concerts and we are very proud to reveal that in December 2011 he became the first of The Rhythm Studio's pupils to achieve a distinction in his Rockschool Grade 8 drum kit examination.

Arthur Franks

Arthur Franks studies drum kit with Chris at Broomfield House, plays in one of The Rhythm Studio's Saturday band sessions, and is a veteran of many a Rock & Roll Boot Camp. Enormous congratulations to Arthur for becoming a chorister at The Chapel Royal at Hampton Court last year. More recently Arthur has earned himself a place at Silvia Youngs Theatre School for next September.
