After taking up the classical violin at the age of seven, with a little help from violin teacher mum, Owen soon found music to be his focal point. After private study led to him performing in numerous school and small orchestral concerts, and then going on to play with bands in his local town in Wales. Upon taking up the guitar at 14, he soon began finding other genres of music such as rock and pop that excited him.

At the age of 18 Owen moved to London to further his musical opportunities and to study guitar at a popular music college, from which he graduated from the higher diploma course with a merit. On completing the year course, he returned to Wales to teach in numerous primary schools, privately and continue to work with local acts. Local metal band "The Hollow Earth Theory" soon recruited him to assist in guitar duties, playing numerous festivals supporting the likes of Opeth, Fightstar and Sepultura. The band also received regular airplay on Scuzz and Kerrang TV stations. and were shortlisted for videogame soundtrack Colin McRae Dirt. After recording their album "Rise of Agartha" with legendary metal producer Fredrick Nordstrom (Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Inflames), received positive press from the likes of UK rock publications Metal Hammer and Kerrang magazines.

With a desire to continue to study, Owen returned to London in 2009 to study for a three-year BMus degree program, but he has also found himself busy working with a hectic recording, teaching and gigging schedule alongside his study. Playing with numerous London artists, such as Hazlitt, who recently supporting Devin Townsend, acoustic artist Buswell whom is currently recording his full length album in Sweden, string quartet work, The Rhythm Studio teachers band and cover band The Plagiarists, sees him working actively within the industry and growing as a musician and teacher.
