DRUM LESSONS AT THE RHYTHM STUDIO - LONDON SCHOOL OF POPULAR MUSIC

Private drum lessons at The Rhythm Studio, London's premier popular music school, are flexible and can easily be arranged to suit individual interests and budgets. From casual lessons after school or work, to intensive one-to-one lessons for the aspiring professional, The Rhythm Studio has a tuition package that will suit everybody's needs.
Beginners will learn the foundations of drumming in different styles, including rock, pop, R&B and jazz, techniques for hands and feet, drum notation and four-way coordination on the drum kit. More advanced players can concentrate on the areas that they want and need to work on, including advanced techniques for hands and feet, musical application of drum rudiments, Latin rhythms, advanced coordination and independence studies, and Jazz drumming. For those interested in hand percussion, we have teachers who specialise in West African, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian percussion.
Rockschool examination preparation is also available for those who want to study for drum kit grade examinations. These examinations allow you to prepare pieces in the styles of music you enjoy, and develop technical ability, improvisation and listening skills. The Rhythm Studio also organises band jam sessions for children aged 8-16 who want to form bands. This is a great way to gain experience playing with other musicians, develop song-writing skills and practise playing in a live situation at our regular concerts.

FEEDBACK FROM THE RHYTHM STUDIO'S DRUM PUPILS
"Michael is a breath of fresh air, I really enjoy my lessons with him." (David)
"Dan is a brilliant teacher, patient, clear and just demanding enough to make you see a real difference before the end of the hour. He's never let me loose the the enthusiasm I had at my first lesson and I've covered a lot of different styles this term which has kept the lessons varied and fun." (Charmian)
