Scholarship Awards 2024-2025

The Rhythm Studio Foundation Scholarship is an annual award that provides the opportunity for young people to receive funded tuition at The Rhythm Studio. Successful applicants receive funding for weekly tuition on drums, guitar, bass, piano, vocals or music technology over the course of three terms. Scholarship holders are welcome to reapply the following year.

The level of financial support available ranges from 100% funded scholarship places to bursary awards that result in a 50% reduction in tuition fees. As well as instrumental or vocal tuition, scholarship students play in bands, perform live, record and receive mentoring from music industry professionals. Candidates should carefully read the guidance notes below before completing the application form.

Do not use this form if you are an existing scholarship student at The Rhythm Studio. Those wishing to reapply should do so here.

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates must be aged 11-18, have a proven passion for music, genuine talent and/or the potential and dedication to improve. In addition, candidates must have settled status in the UK, meaning you are a British Citizen or have been granted leave to enter or remain in the UK for an indefinite period.

FINANCIAL CRITERIA

Our Scholarship scheme is means-tested and you will need to provide evidence of a clear need for financial assistance to qualify for financial help. As a charity, our funds are limited and therefore we need to prioritise applicants demonstrating the greatest financial need in addition to musical commitment.

We look at the annual, gross, family income of the home in which the young person mainly lives, and take into account the number of dependent children within that household. The following guidelines may help you decide whether to progress with an application:

•    If your gross annual family income is under £30,000, you are eligible to apply for a 100% scholarship

•   If your gross annual family income is above £30,000, you are still eligible to apply and  you may be  awarded  a 50% or 100% award depending on your individual circumstances.

For the 2024 round, we will make our assessment based on household family income for the period April 2023 to March 2024.
