During this special Schools’ Sumo Presentation, hear from some of Japan’s elite rikishi (wrestlers) about how they live and train, experience the captivating ceremonial rituals of Sumo, and witness wrestling demonstrations in an unforgettable celebration of tradition and athleticism.

HALESTORM PR & MANAGEMENT

We’re excited to welcome Steph Whitehead-Rees of Halestorm PR & Management back to The Rhythm Studio for a session on how to navigate press, communications and artist management in the music industry. Halestorm is a boutique PR & Management organisation specialising in entertainment, music and celebrity clients, promoting major label releases and A-list entertainment projects.

MACKWOOD

After cutting experience with names like Col3trane and Nilüfer Yanya, former student at The Rhythm Studio Harry Ling, a.k.a Mackwood, has already carved out a versatile niche between drumming, production and songwriting. His debut album 'Master Changes' features premier musicians from projects like Kokoroko, Yussef Dayes and Cleo Sol. Over the last year Mackwood have made festival appearances at Lost Village, We Out Here and Love Supreme and played additional packed shows at the Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s and Jazz Re:Freshed.

TATE MODERN

Location: Tate Modern, Bankside, SE1 9TG

A visit to the iconic Tate Modern gallery to take in paintings, sculptures, and more made by artists all over the world such as Pablo Picasso, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, and Jenny Holzer. The Tate Modern has over a hundred years of art, from modernism in the early 1900s, to exciting works created today.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH GIG

Date: Tuesday 21st October

Time: 4.30 - 7.00pm

Location: The Rhythm Studio

We'll be joining our parters at West London College for a Black History Month themed gig at the college's Taste restaurant. NB - this event is only for performers and DJs who wish to take part in the Black History Month performance.

WEDNESDAY 22ND OCTOBER

ALUMNI PANEL

Date: Wednesday 22nd October

Time: 10.30am - 12.30pm

Location: The Rhythm Studio

This workshop will see former students return to where it all began to share details about their life after The Rhythm Studio. The alumni will take part in an informal Q&A and share some of their live tracks. This year’s guests include Daniel Rowson, Shania Patel, Cosima Accurso and Finlay Gee.

PERFORMANCE AUDITION

A selection of acts will be chosen to take part in two exciting upcoming performance opportunities. Our alumni panel will watch the auditions and give the bands and solo artists feedback on their performances. MASTERCLASS: TRAVIS THOMAS (TRAGE)

Date: Thursday 23rd October

Time: 12.30pm - 2.00pm

Location: The Rhythm Studio

Travis is a rapper who goes by the artist name Trage. Trage means leader - someone who has had to put his best foot forward to achieve his goal. Trage is a 24 year-old versatile rapper from south London, who is now currently bringing back old school garage music. His slogan is "coldest one" and he continues to manifest and share to his audience.

STOMP WORKSHOP

Location: The Rhythm Studio

Carl Smith, Co-Founder, writer and performer of STOMP, one of the most successful shows ever to come out of the UK, will be returning to lead his legendary percussion workshop for students at The Rhythm Studio.
