SCHOOL WORKSHOPS
“The opportunity to visit a specialist facility and work in small groups with expert tutors had a significant impact on the children’s learning” - Bevington Primary School
THE RHYTHM STUDIO FOUNDATION SCHOOLS PROGRAM
We fund an annual program in association with West London schools, offering music workshops that allow young children to experience the excitement of learning an instrument and performing live. Older kids are given access to specialist tuition, top class facilities and mentoring from industry professionals to support their school music studies and help transform their career dreams into realities.
Each week, 200 local state school pupils aged 8-11 attend our award-winning Primary Schools Workshop Programme. Pupils learn instruments and perform in a band or create their own music using Bandlab, Logic Pro X or GarageBand. Working with 12 local primary schools during the last 3 years, over 1500 pupils have completed a 10-week music programme with RSF.
PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Children from Key Stage 2 can choose to learn an instrument and play in a band, sing in a pop choir or produce their own music using Logic Pro X and GarageBand.
SECONDARY SCHOOLS
Students experience working in a professional studio environment, while developing songwriting skills and receiving expert production tuition on Logic Pro X.
“While I was here I learned how to add all sorts of beats to music. I always thought that I would never learn how to do it but… The Rhythm Studio taught me so much – I love it here.”
PARTNER SCHOOLS
We’ve had another successful term of our award winning primary school workshops with The Rhythm Studio Foundation. Students accessed music making from band sessions and Logic Pro X courses at the studio to weekly iPad workshops at their schools. Our primary school workshops are provided for free to the schools we work with.
On Monday 27th November we had our final workshop with Avonmore Primary School. Over the course of the previous ten weeks our tutors have been working with Avonmore’s class of Year 4 students to prepare them for an end of term performance at their school.
One of The Rhythm Studio Foundations week-to-week jobs is providing workshops in a number of different primary schools across the West London area. Spread across each week our teaches travel out to the schools to provide Music education in a variety of ways.
Well done to our students from St Pauls Primary and Addison Primary for their end of term performances at their schools. The students had visited The Rhythm Studio for 10 weeks of band sessions and music production workshops.
Thank you to everyone who made it along to the RSF Welcome Evening last night. It was a great pleasure to show everyone around our new facilities and enjoy some wonderful live music. This year marks the 10th anniversary of The Rhythm Studio Foundation, so it was particularly special to catch up with so many of our charity’s supporters students and alumni.
We are really excited that our Primary School’s Rock & Pop workshop programme has started once again. Each week 90 local state primary school pupils from Years 5 & 6 at St Mary’s RC and Bevington Primary Schools are taking part in band and music production workshops.
We feel so honoured to have received the Excellence in Primary/Early Years (Music & Drama) Award. As a relatively small charity, we always aim to punch above our weight and so it’s particularly rewarding to receive such a high-profile national award for the work we’re doing in the community. It’s always great to receive positive feedback from our local school partners at the end of a project, but to have our programme further validated by winning a 2021 Music & Drama Education Award is absolutely brilliant.
We’ve just completed our first 6 weeks of our Primary Schools workshop programme with pupils from two local state-primary school. Each week the year 5’s from Bevington Primary School and St Peter’s C of E Primary School visit the Rhythm Studio and learn to play drums, guitar, sing and make music using GarageBand on iPads.
