MUSIC PERFORMANCE, PRODUCTION & BUSINESS

The Rhythm Studio’s government-funded Sixth Form offers 16-18 year olds the opportunity to spend two years developing the expertise and ethos required to succeed in the creative industries. Through practical work students learn how to create, perform and promote the music that they love, while discovering the work of successful music professionals and organisations, and exploring current industry trends.

A selection of music performance, production and business units equip students with the necessary skills to develop their musical voice and offer insight into how to begin working in the music industry. Musicianship Classes

Musicianship classes complement the core modules, providing students with opportunities to expand their existing knowledge or explore entirely new topics. These range from cultural studies, to songwriting, via technological innovations and specialised performance and production techniques.

Live Performance Workshop

This class is designed to help you develop your ability to prepare for and participate in a musical ensemble, simulating the environment of a session band, as well as providing you with a deeper understanding of the major genres in popular music.

Group Tutorials, Masterclasses & Career Development

Each week students attend Group Tutorials, covering personal, social, health education and citizenship, or Masterclasses lead by guest tutors from across the music industry. Additional career development activities include work experience placements, music business taster days and trips to industry events.

I believe this ‘boutique’ sixth form and its connections to established artists and businesses in the international music industry make it stand out and be sought after. The Rhythm Studio’s management and administration are passionate, and they genuinely care about the students and want them to succeed. I also admire the way you keep in touch with alumni. I would definitely recommend the school to other parents.

The teaching staff at The Rhythm Studio are kind, understanding and inspiring, which allows my child to focus on his creative endeavours while feeling supported, and not with anxiety about meeting a “checklist” - he can express himself as an artist.
