STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

The Rhythm Studio aims to provide all students the confidence, knowledge and motivation to fulfil their potential. Students are expected to welcome and value all members of our community, while contributing to a culture of kindness, responsibility, tolerance and respect.

As a student of The Rhythm Studio, I will:

  • Be an ambassador for The Rhythm Studio at all times, both on-site and within the local community, including whilst taking part in any related activities off-site, such as concerts and study trips.

  • Work hard at The Rhythm Studio and at home in order to fulfil my potential.

  • Attend all classes, arrive in good time and be properly equipped to learn.

  • Complete assignments, homework and practice material on time.

  • Inform the relevant person if you are going to be absent or delayed for an activity where you are expected to attend.

  • Recognise and celebrate the diversity of The Rhythm Studio community, never discriminate against, insult, undermine or use abusive, racist, sexist or homophobic language towards a member of staff, visitor or other student, be it in person or via social media.

  • Act responsibly, demonstrate honesty, consideration, respect and courtesy towards others, and respect other people’s feelings and points of view, so that they do not feel that they are being harassed or bullied.

  • Ensure that any activity you engage in using the internet, including virtual learning environments, social networking sites, blogs or other web resources, refrains from causing offence and could not be regarded as bullying or harassment.

  • Abide by the law at all times.

  • Show consideration for the welfare of your friends and peers and, if appropriate, provide advice on seeking help.

  • Set an example and act as a positive role-model for the younger members of The Rhythm Studio community.

  • Wear my Student ID lanyard at all times on The Rhythm Studio premises (sixth form students only).

  • Wear appropriate clothes for school or work and refrain from wearing hats or hoods up on the premises.

  • Not engage in cheating in examinations or assessed coursework, refraining from any form of plagiarism, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), to create a submission or the framework of a submission which is not a student’s own work, words or ideas.

  • Not leave the premises during timetabled classes or breaks between classes.

  • Never rush, fight, play-fight or engage in any other form of physically inappropriate behaviour.

  • Log out and shut down computers at the end of session, and power down any electrical items after use.

  • Switch off my mobile phone in classrooms.

  • Not smoke or vape on The Rhythm Studio premises.

  • Not carry or be under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol.

  • Be responsible for my own possessions, never touch other people’s property without their clear permission and always treat other people’s belongings with respect.

  • Never drop litter and always pick up litter when I see it.

  • Only eat and drink in the canteen, common room or outdoor seating areas.

  • Support staff to keep our facilities clean and tidy and respect the accommodation, equipment and property of The Rhythm Studio.

  • Have respect for our neighbours and be helpful and considerate in the local community.
