It was such a pleasure to welcome guest speaker Matty Roberts of V1 Tour Production to The Rhythm Studio last month. Matty gave us a fascinating insight into life as a Production Manager for major artists, drawing on his work with the likes of Becky Hill, Gorgon City, Zara Larsson, Muse, Charli XCX, Stormzy and many more. Matty was also kind enough to invite some students to assist on the event production of Future Talent’s recent anniversary show at The Roundhouse. Thank you Matty!
The Rhythm Studio took to the road yesterday, travelling to the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham with sixth form band The Bay who warmed up Kylie’s fans before her Tension World Tour show. Orla, Lilly, Reza, George and Dylan performed an outstanding set for Kylie’s fans, then took their seats to enjoy Kylie’s two-hour pop extravaganza, featuring all of the pop icon’s biggest hits. Our thanks go to our friends at Music Workshop and BP Pulse for making this incredible opportunity possible for dedicated young musicians from The Rhythm Studio.
It was a pleasure to have Wizdom Layne - co-director of Sound Connections and artist manager - for our masterclass earlier today! Wizdom spoke to our sixth formers about the stages of development in the music industry, giving valuable insights on progressing from talented musicians to gigging performers and recording artists. We’re looking forward to having him back again soon!
It was lovely to have or second year sixth former back at Chelsea & Westminster hospital with CW+. We visit the hospital every term with each class to perform at their lunchtime concerts.
We were lucky to have our students attended a very special masterclass with one of the world’s leading pianists Lang Lang. They spent the afternoon observing up close 4 young pianists, including Young Musician of The Year Ryan Wang, being put through their paces by Lang Lang.
We were so lucky to welcome Victoria Port for our Sixth Form masterclass last week. Victoria took us on a journey through her career and how her style has evolved over time. She also gave the students an in depth insight into how to approach their first steps into the industry and showcased some of her new material. Thank you Victoria for an inspiring session!

The Tri-borough Music Hub and The Rhythm Studio marked the 10th anniversary of Future Sounds last week with a spectacular live showcase at Bush Hall in West London. Seven exceptional young acts took to the stage, performing an original song and a cover version each in front of a full house and an all-star panel featuring Coldplay’s Will Champion, Texas front woman Sharleen Spiteri, rapper and broadcaster Big Zuu, and acclaimed reggae artist Hollie Cook.

The Big Give Arts for Impact match funding campaign kicks off today, donations made to The Rhythm Studio Foundation this week will be doubled! We are raising money for The Rhythm Studio Foundation’s Young Patients Programme, which provides weekly online lessons to young people that have been referred to us by our partners St Mary’s Hospital.
Thank you Digby Lovatt for an amazing masterclass on everything bass! Digby gave us a fantastic overview of his life as a session musician, from college days to playing arenas and West End musicals. He didn’t shy away from giving his best tips on how to prepare for a session, dial in deep tones, grow your network… and he showed us some jaw-dropping bass lines too!
The Rhythm Studio sixth formers were treated to a visit from internationally acclaimed pop artist Pixie Lott. Pixie, who is celebrating the release of her fourth studio album Encino, performed an intimate 4 song set for the students, then spent time taking questions and sharing insights with the students about her experiences as a singer, songwriter, actress and TV personality.
It was amazing for our students to be invited to perform at this years Music & Drama Education Awards at The Royal National Hotel!
The awards celebrate the extraordinary contribution made by professionals, schools, companies, charities and other organisations to the lives of others through the medium of these two key performing arts. Thank you for having us!
We are delighted to announce that the newly launched Ed Sheeran Foundation has chosen to fund The Rhythm Studio Foundation’s award-winning Primary Schools Workshop Programme for the next three years. This vital support will help us expand access to music education for 1,800 children in some of West London's most disadvantaged areas.

The Rhythm Studio returns to Camden Assembly tonight to celebrate the release of three new singles on the RS Recordings label. Our line up of three young artists, Single Workers, Onirique and Positive_Con, are all 2024 graduates from The Rhythm Studio’s sixth form.
The Rhythm Studio Foundation had another successful run of school workshops last term, with over 200 local state primary pupils attending our award-winning classes.
This calendar year has been full of excitement, from unforgettable gigs at Bush Hall and Pizza Express Live, to outdoor shows at Queens Park Day and Parsons Green Fair, via masterclasses with the likes of David Arnold and Harry Judd, and even a visit to the studios from Ed Sheeran himself. It has certainly been a year to remember!
It was lovely to be back with CW+ Charity for their Great Big Thank You Week, which celebrated the incredible contributions of the staff and volunteers. Our sixth formers showcased a few festive songs in the hospital's performance space while our tutors Sean and Ida visited young patients on the wards.
Another fantastic Gig Week at the studio, we had over 200 students showcase what they’ve been learning this term! Twice a year we invite in family and friends to the studio to watch a week of performances, it’s great opportunity to perform to a lovely audience, meet other families and get inspired by other students.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Andy Stott, Head of Popular Music at RNCM - Royal Northern College of Music, to introduce our students to RNCM and their brilliant music courses. Andy told us about the unique flexibility they offer at the Conservatoire, and even gave precious feedback to some of our students who got on stage and performed for him.
She’s Got Brass: We had loads of fun with Anna and Hannah from She’s Got Brass! They joined us for Career Development Week to tell us about their unique all-female brass ensemble, and their exciting experiences playing massive festival stages, being DIY artists, and everything in between. They also helped us reflect on the power of perseverance and what it takes to take up space in a male-dominated industry.
Industry panel: Another highlight from our Career Development Week, we hosted a superstar music industry panel with Seb Juviler from Forever Audio, Joel Peters from Three six zero and Javier from 5dB. We had the pleasure of re-discovering what their businesses are all about, and to talk in depth about the ever-changing direction of our journeys as musicians, injecting new ideas into the way we think about our careers.
