Shamime Ibrahim

Beatboxing | Rap | Hip Hop

Shamime is a recording artist and professional beatboxer with 14 years of beatboxing experience under her belt. Having a keen interest in the genre of hip hop she has been able to emulate a wide variety of drum machines and sound effects ranging from 909s to lo-fi drums. At 18, she performed with Jason Mraz at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles to a crowd of 15,000 + people and has since been working on her own music and collaborating with artists such as The Specials and Anoushka Lucas. As an undergrad at Oxford university she was the main vocal percussionist for the Oxford Alternotives in 2017 and began actively writing and producing material both for herself and other artists. Shamime is currently signed to Locomotion records and is working to put out politically conscious music that resonates with disenfranchised young people.

Might have her name spelled wrong, but Jason introduced her as an 18-year-old phenomenon from West London. The Hollywood Bowl loved her.
