Kaja Magsam

Kaja started playing the drums when she was 9 years old and discovered her passion for performing when she joined her first pop band at the age of 12. By the time she was 18 she had won several awards with her band, released an album and performed in a number of european countries.

After a three-year stint in Berlin where she played in experimental and electronic bands she moved to Osnabrück, Germany and attended the Institute of Music where she obtained a B.A. in Pop Music Performance and Teaching.

While studying, teaching drums and giving band workshops she also toured with singer and bassist Olivia Anna Livki, playing festivals in Poland and opening for Lenny Kravitz at his show in Warsaw in November 2011.

During her studies she attended masterclasses with and was inspired by Sonny Emory, Gavin Harrison, Stephan Emig, Alex Vesper, Wolf Simon, Marius Goldhammer, Victor Bailey, T.M. Stevens and Snarky Puppy.

Kaja is now based in London and enjoys teaching drums as well as playing with indie band MARINE and KAJAK, her Drummer-meets-Dj-duo with Bobby Soulo, Berlin.
